  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Regular Council Agenda dated August 10, 2023 be adopted as presented/amended.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held on July 13, 2023 be adopted as presented/amended.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the Special Meeting of Council held on July 27, 2023 be adopted as presented/amended.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council adopt the consent agenda motions presented on the agenda.

Hard copies of all correspondence for information is available at the Municipal office on request. The information items have been circulated to Council prior to the meeting.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT correspondence items numbered: 8.2.1 to 8.2.6 on this agenda be received by Council for information and be noted, filed, and recorded in the minutes of this meeting;

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receive the report from the Marten River Fire Department for July 2023.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receive the report from the Temagami Fire Department for July 2023.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receive the Public Works Report for July 2023.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receive the report from the Treasurer/Administrator dated August 10, 2023.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receive the Budget Variance Report for July 2023.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receive the recreation staffing report and directs staff to advertise the positions in accordance with the Municipal Hiring Policy.  

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council direct Mayor O’Mara to sign the Proclamation proclaiming August 31, 2023 as International Overdose Awareness Day in the Municipality of Temagami.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council donate $500 to the Bassin’ for kids event being held on Lake Temagami September 8th to 10th 2023.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-Law 23-1680, being a by-law to establish Municipal User Fees and Charges be taken as read a first time, a second time and read a third time and finally passed this 10th day of August, 2023;

    AND FURTHER THAT the said By-Law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and Recorded in the By-Law Book.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council proceed with the completion of the gravel and guardrail project on Fox Run to be completed by Seguin and Sons once the previous price has been confirmed. 

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council direct staff to submit the application to CMHC for the Housing Accelerator Fund.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the 2023 Cost of Living Adjustment be set at 4%, effective January 1, 2023 and reflected in pay rates following the annual review.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council directs Staff to authorize the Ontario Clean Water Agency to commence rehabilitation work on the Temagami North Standpipe;

    AND FURTHER THAT Council directs Staff to start the procedure to apply for a long-term loan through Infrastructure Ontario in support of the ICIP Green Water and Wastewater Projects in the amount of $1,150,000.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve Draft Policy 1.2.11 – Filling Vacancy on Council;

    AND FURTHER THAT Council directs Staff to prepare a By-Law for Council’s consideration to entrench this policy.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council direct Staff to reply to Timiskaming Health Unit that the Municipality of Temagami is interested in participating in the PurpleAir monitoring program.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives the Planning Report, including the updated expected timing for the Official Plan, from MHBC.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receive the 2023 second quarter operations & performance report from the Ontario Clean Water Agency for Temagami Water and Wastewater Systems.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council direct Staff to schedule a Special Meeting of Council for September 7, 2023;

    AND FURTHER THAT Candidates to fill the present vacancy on Council be invited to make presentations to Council at that meeting.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-law 23-1681, being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami, be taken as read a first time, read a second time and read a third time and finally passed this 10th day of August, 2023;

    AND FURTHER THAT the said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and recorded in the by-law book.
