    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami hereby receive Memo 2024-M-125.

    AND FURTHER THAT the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami hereby approves the adoption of the Committee of the Whole structure, replacing the existing Standing Committees model, on a trial basis for  [______________ ]. The terms of reference for the Committee of the Whole, as proposed in the appendix, will be adopted as presented/amended

     

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami hereby receives Memo 2024-M-125

     

    AND FURTHER THAT Council conditionally approve the relocation of the Marten River Helipad to behind the Marten River Fire Hall, upon obtaining written permission and meeting all requirements of ORNGE and our Insurance Provider,

     

    AND FURTHER THAT Once the above conditions are met, Council give approval to the Marten River Volunteer Firefighters Association (MRVFTA) to proceed with the site preparation (clearing/leveling), pouring of the cement pad, and relocation of the helipad to accommodate night landing.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby receive memo 2024-M-126 from the Temagami Fire Department regarding the Fire Protection Grant (2024-25) available from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.

    AND FURTHER THAT Council authorize the Fire Chiefs to submit an application for items that they deem required and eligible for the grant.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council Approve the revised lease agreements for the Temagami Train Station;

    AND FURTHER THAT Council direct staff to send the agreements to our insurance and legal counsel to ensure that they meet all requirements, before sending them to the respective parties for review and execution.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council accept the Lake Temagami Access Point AdHoc Committee Terms of Reference as presented.

    AND FURTHER THAT regular monthly reporting is presented to Council on the progress.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council authorize the Mayor to send a letter to the Temagami Forest Management Corporation nominating Cathy Dwyer for the vacant Board position;

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Municipality of Temagami hereby approves the transition to Loop for website development to enhance our digital presence and achieve cost efficiency by consolidating several existing subscriptions.  

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami hereby approves the implementation of CCTV systems in municipal properties and infrastructure, subject to the following conditions:

    1. Cost-Effective Implementation: Ensure that CCTV systems are implemented within the approved budget, with solutions that are cost-effective and meet required standards.

    2. Preventative Measures: Prioritize preventative maintenance and regular assessments to minimize long-term costs and avoid potential legal issues.

    3. Privacy and Compliance: Comply with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA) to safeguard personal data and avoid legal repercussions. 

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami hereby direct the CAO to:

    1. Conduct a Comprehensive Review: Initiate a thorough review and comparison of banking services offered by major banks, focusing on fees, service offerings, and community engagement.

    2. Engage with Potential Banks: Reach out to representatives from TD Bank, BMO, CIBC, RBC, and National Bank to discuss their service offerings and potential benefits for the municipality.

    3. Report Findings to Council: Prepare a detailed report outlining the findings of the review, including a comparison of fees, services, and recommendations for the most advantageous banking options. 

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council donate $500 to the Bassin' for Kids event being held on Lake Temagami September 6th - 8th, 2024.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED that Council receives the request letter and information from Flying Lion, Inc.;

    AND FURTHER THAT Council agrees to allow Flying Lion, Inc. to use the Temagami Tower and the occasional use of the waterfront docks for their innovative drone service.

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED that Council receives the request letters from Ray Richmond, on behalf of the Temagami Legion, Branch 408;

    AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the request for an outdoor patio bar at the Municipal Chalet on August 24, 2024;

    AND FURTHER THAT Council approve the request for an outdoor patio bar at the Temagami Legion parking lot on September 7, 2024. 

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council receives the request letter from R & H Gardner.

    AND FURTHER THAT Council Authorize Staff to proceed with investigating the Costs and possible of locations for additional docking slips. 

  • Draft Motion:

    WHEREAS the Municipality of Temagami's Council Donation Policy states that if any Municipal Contribution of more than $500.00 be approved, a report detailing how the funds were spent must be sent to the Municipality Council within 60 days following the event(s).

    AND WHEREAS The Temagami Curls is requesting a donation of $1000.00 towards the purchase of 3 Traditional Curling Scoreboards for the arena;

    SO THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve the donation request of $1000.00 to Temagami Curls for the purchase of 3 traditional scoreboards and direct staff to request a report detailing how the funds were spent within 60 days of the first curling meet and report back to Council at a future date. 

  • Draft Motion:

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-law 24-1754, being a by-law to enter into a Joint Fire Communications Agreement, be taken as read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 8th day of August 2024;

    AND FURTHER THAT the said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and recorded in the by-law book.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-law 24-1755, being a by-law to enter into a Permission to Construct and Operating Agreement and an amending agreement for use of property with the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission, be taken as read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 8th day of August 2024;

    AND FURTHER THAT the said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and recorded in the by-law book.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-law 24-1756, being a by-law to set the property Class Tax Ratios for 2024, be taken as read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 8th day of August 2024;

    AND FURTHER THAT the said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and recorded in the by-law book.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-law 24-1757, being a by-law to adopt the estimates of all sums (budget by-law) for 2024, be taken as read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 8th day of August 2024;

    AND FURTHER THAT the said by-law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and recorded in the by-law book.

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-law 24-1758, being a by-law to strike rates of taxation for 2024, be taken as read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 8th day of August 2024;

    BE IT RESOLVED THAT By-law 24-1759, being a by-law to set the area rated charges for 2024, be taken as read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 8th day of August 2024;
