  FURTHER THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby direct staff to bring a draft By-law regarding the 'Regulation of Short-Term Rentals' within the Municipality of Temagami at the Working Session on January 25, 2024 for review.

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Municipality of Temagami does hereby receive report 2024-M-004 regarding the '2024 AMCTO Conference' and;

  FURTHER THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby direct staff to proceed with the registration of 2 Staff.

2024-M-006 - Waste Transfer Station - Winter Hours

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council proceed with the winter hours as follows:

  
  AND FURTHER THAT These hours will take effect on February 1st, 2024, to provide 3 weeks of notice period.

2024-M-007 - OCWA Capital Letter Approval

Budget Commitment

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve the recommended capital expenses based on the 2024 OCWA Capital Letter and Memo 2023-M-267 as presented on December 14, 2023.

  AND FURTHER THAT Council direct staff to work with OCWA to commence the purchases and work required to maintain cost estimates.

2024-M-011 - Employee Health Insurance Benefits

Proposed Switch of Carriers

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve the proposal from St. Cyr and Associates as presented to Council at the December 14th, 2023 Regular Council Meeting to proceed with Green Shield as our benefits provider.

2024-M-009 - MLEO PSO Council Report - Property Standards Engineer Report

Demolition of a Subject Property

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami receives report 2024-M-009 pertaining to the proposed (1) Structural Engineers inspection, (2) Placing of Advertisement for soliciting quotes/Contractor bids in anticipation of a potential demolition of the subject property, as described as Plan M-66 n1/2 92, 93 PCL 15303, 15304.

2024-M-015 - TFD - E-Hydraulic Ram Purchase Request

Purchase of E-Hydraulic Ram

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby receive the report from the Temagami Fire Chief on the progress of the Temagami Lion’s project to purchase a new set E-Hydraulic “jaws of Life” extrication equipment for the Temagami Fire Department, 

  
  AND FURTHER THAT Council approves the immediate purchase of the E-hydraulic 60” Ram on the commitment by the Temagami Lions Club to raising and donating the necessary funds, to cover the purchase, with the expenditure identified in the department 2024 capital budget, and funding identified in the department’s budget revenue from donations.

2024-M-008 - OCWA - Temagami North Standpipe Rebuild Tender 

Required Standpipe Approval

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council approve the Design, Tender Administration, and Project Management as presented in the attached Proposal from the Ontario Clean Water Agency at a cost of $65,930 for the replacement of the Temagami North Water Tower (Standpipe)

  AND FURTHER THAT Staff be directed to complete the Scope Change Documents with ICIP;

  AND FURTHER THAT Staff and OCWA be directed to come back to Council with the Submitted Tenders and Funders approval to continue with the Project

Sponsorship

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Municipality of Temagami does hereby receive report 2024-M-003 regarding the '2024 Ice Fishing Challenge' and;

  FURTHER THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby direct staff to proceed with the community sponsorship in the amount of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) plus applicable taxes.

Rising Municipal Insurance Costs

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby support Asphodel Norwood concerning 'Rising Municipal Insurance Costs' and;

  FURTHER THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby direct the Municipal Clerk to provide a letter of support to various Ministers and MPP's.

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby direct the Municipal Clerk to provide a letter of support to Thunder Bay, Ministers and MPP's in regards to short term rental advocacy.

Federal Government - Greater Support for the CEBA Loan Businesses

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby direct the Municipal Clerk to provide a letter of support to Stratford and various Ministers and MPP's regarding Greater Support for the CEBA Business Loans Program' and;

Amend the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 (FBCSA)

• Draft Motion:

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami does hereby direct the Municipal Clerk to provide a letter of support to Clearview Township and various Ministers and MPP's regarding an amendment of the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002'

  BE IT RESOLVED THAT the By-Law 24-1717 to Appoint a Dan Arbour as Municipal Weed Inspector for the Corporation of the Municipality of Temagami be taken as read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 11th day of January 2024;

  AND FURTHER THAT the said By-Law be signed by the Mayor and Clerk and recorded in the By-Law Book.
